A movement is greater than one person

There is purpose through tragedy and if we, as burn survivors and citizens, unite behind such an important cause, we can make a huge difference in the lives of others.

Pam Elliott, Phoenix Advocate

Together, we seek every opportunity to advocate for effective burn prevention, burn care, and equality.

Phoenix Advocates are burn survivors, loved ones, healthcare professionals, and those passionate about fire safety who partner with us to impact positive change.

To maximize our collective voice, we concentrate our efforts on three priority advocacy areas.

Partnering with passionate people like you who are dedicated to making a difference, Phoenix Society is a tireless advocate for effective burn prevention, burn care, and equality.

Phoenix Advocates help make our communities safer. We amplify the burn community’s powerful voices to influence more effective legislation of building codes and fire prevention measures.

Burn Care

Access to long-term care is critical to a burn survivor’s recovery journey. We work with burn professionals to ensure survivors have access to the specialized and critical burn care they require and deserve.

Equality Inclusion

We strive for equality, no matter one’s appearance. Phoenix Advocates share their stories of resilience, empowerment, and self-love to build greater understanding of our journeys while celebrating the beauty of our scars.

Your Voice is Powerful.

Phoenix Advocates receive training and support to turn their passion and experience into a powerful force for change.

Current Advocacy Alerts

We are advocating for more federal funding for two more Burn Model Systems (BMS) as well as increased funding for the current four BMS programs. This funding is focused on the lifelong needs of those living with a burn injury and will help us understand the chronic health issues related to burn injuries. Please take a few minutes and contact your representatives in both Congress and the House with the letter below to share your personal experience and the need for greater funding for the Burn Model Program and support for those living with burn injuries.

Research Opportunities

Phoenix Society partners with leading universities and academic medical centers to support research efforts that impact the burn community. The topics vary, but the goal is the same - unlock a key to easing the healing journey.

You could play a critical role in a cutting edge discovery that improves lives.
