Savannah Bailey shares her burn survivor story in Phoenix Society's Virtual Open Mic.

Hi, my name is Savannah Bailey. I just turned 25 on June 18 thank god. This has been a tough journey but I still try to push through for my kids. On Valentine’s Day of 2020 I was put on fire almost lost my life In front of my kids , but I had to stay alive no matter what to see if they were ok. I was set on fire in my own apartment that we shared. I was burned from the waist up and I put myself out by rolling in snow!!!!Its crazy because I felt myself letting go but I couldn’t do that . I feel good because I saved lives that day my neighbors and there kids could of died in that horrible situation but I couldn’t live with myself if they had of passed away because its not there fault they deserve to live and so did my kids.

I am here today thanks to god and Columbia St. Mary’s for believing in me and making my stay there as a whole possible. They were some kind people I will never forget . You guys saved me and brought me back home and I have never felt better that I am not in that relationship anymore. He is now in jail serving 50 years and I couldn’t be more happy. I wanna thank my mom Wanda Bailey, my sister Sharrissa Johnson and my grandmother Lucie Bailey. They came to see me everyday and didn’t miss a heart beat. I also wanna thank my dad. THANK YOU❤️❤️
