Phoenix Society's Terms & Conditions apply to the 2023 Phoenix World Burn Congress (WBC). Prior to your registration, you must acknowledge and accept the Terms & Conditions contained herein. Should you not wish to accept the Terms & Conditions you should not register. Submission of a registration is regarded as affirmation of your acceptance of the Terms & Conditions.
Phoenix Society reserves the right to change, amend, add, or remove any of the Terms & Conditions at its sole discretion and without prior notice. If one or more of the conditions outlined in these Terms & Conditions should become invalid, the remaining will continue to be valid and apply. These Terms & Conditions apply to all event participants (attendees, speakers, volunteers, staff, partners, and exhibitors). The views expressed by any attendee, speaker, volunteer, staff, partner, and exhibitor are not necessarily those of Phoenix Society. All attendees, speakers, volunteers, staff, partners, and exhibitors are solely responsible for the content of all individual or corporate presentations, marketing collateral, and/or advertising.

All participants, including, but not limited to,attendees, speakers, volunteers, staff, partners, and exhibitors, service providers, and all others, must abide by the following policy:

Be respectful of others and their viewpoints, which may be different from your own

Be mindful of your words and actions
Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:
Offensive or unwanted behavior or language including, but not limited to, race, religion, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, transgender status, age, disability, veteran or marital status, or any other similar categories.
Visual harassment, such as sexual images OR sexual language, including in presentations and slide decks.
Sexual harassment of any kind, such as unwelcome sexual advances or words/actions of a sexual nature.
Wearing attire that includes harmful or offensive language or imagery that is not appropriate for a professional setting.
Disruption of presentations during sessions or at other events organized by Phoenix Society.
Abusive action directed at an individual, such as threats, intimidation, or bullying, both online and/or in-person.
Sharing your Phoenix WBC registration or making event content available to another person(s).
Possession of a weapon or something that could be construed as a weapon both online and/or in-person.
Possession or mention of illegal substances both online and/or in-person.
Inappropriate comments or stalking of fellow attendees.
Nudity is prohibited.
Any other illegal activity not already covered above.
Phoenix Society has zero tolerance for any form of discrimination or harassment, including but not limited to sexual harassment by participants or our staff at our meetings. If you are the subject of, or witness to any violations, you can contact us by sending an email to info@phoenix-society.org
In consideration of being allowed to register for, and participate in the Phoenix WBC 2023, you hereby warrant and represent that you are age 18 or above and freely waive, release from liability, assume all risks, and covenant not to sue Phoenix Society or its members, employees, board members, agents, or volunteers for any expense, loss, damage, personal injury, including loss of life, illness, disability, property damage, or property theft or actions of any kind that you may hereafter suffer or sustain before, during, or after the event, unless said expense, loss, damage, personal injury, including loss of life, illness, disability, property damage or property theft or actions of any kind is caused by the sole, gross negligence of Phoenix Society. You must be age 21 or older to attend social events where alcohol is served unless a parent is present. This Liability Waiver & Release is specifically binding upon your heirs and assigns and is knowingly given.
By accepting Phoenix WBC 2023 terms of use, you hereby grant to Phoenix Society, its representatives, successors, and assigns, the right to use my name, voice, image, likeness, testimonial or comment and any and all attributes of my personality and appearance without charge in connection with any film, audio tape, videotape, photograph, print media, book, illustration, animation, broadcast, interview or other media, now known or later developed, in any form, including all formats of computer-readable media, produced by or for the Phoenix Society, any derivative works, and any advertising or promotional material created by Phoenix Society. You further specifically grant Phoenix Society the right to publish and/or release the materials to any entity it chooses. “Materials” include but are not limited to: photographs, interviews and video taken during programs, events, and activities of Phoenix Society, including but not limited to the Phoenix WBC event.
You assign to Phoenix Society the exclusive and perpetual right, in all languages and throughout the world, to use, produce, publish, reproduce, manufacture, copy, display, perform, exhibit, transmit, broadcast, distribute, advertise, sell, lease, license, transfer, modify and create derivative works in any media or format for any lawful purpose.
You expressly waive any and all claims to copyright, patent, or other ownership in Phoenix Society materials. You assign to Phoenix Society any and all clams of copyright you may have. You authorize the news media to ideotape and/or conduct interviews for publication/airing to its viewers/listeners/readers. You hereby waive any privacy rights associated with such comments, testimonials, photography and video.
You also consent to the digital compositing or alteration of the portraits or pictures, including without restriction any changes or alterations as to color, size, shape, perspective, context, foreground, or background. You hereby waive any right you may have to inspect and/or approve the finished product or the copy that may be used in connection therewith or the use to which it may be applied.
You understand that the images of you may be used by Phoenix Society to promote burn awareness. Knowing that such uses may intentionally or unintentionally give rise to the impression that you have suffered from a burn injury. You nevertheless consent to this use.
You understand and agree that you may be identified by name in printed, publication, digital, internet, or broadcast information that might accompany a photograph, testimonial, interview, or image of me.
