Hosted by Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors, this event brings together survivors, supporters, and advocates for an inspiring night of connection and impact.

Tickets for the event are $250. Sponsorships, beginning at $2,500, are also available.

Dr. Ruth Rimmer

Dr. Rimmer (pictured left) has spent 31+ years advocating for burn survivors and their families. With over 25 years of active involvement with Phoenix Society and the Arizona Burn Center, she has guided patient care, research, and prevention.

A Certified Life Care Planner for 20+ years, Dr. Rimmer helps burn survivors navigate ongoing medical and psychological needs. Her bilingual skills have bridged gaps for English and Spanish-speaking patients. Through research, publications, and advocacy, she continues to champion burn survivors, inspiring hope and healing.

Cindy Rutter

Cindy (pictured right) has partnered with Phoenix Society for over 45 years after surviving severe burns and over 100 surgeries before age 18. As a medical professional, she has supported burn survivors as a nurse and burn center manager at UC San Diego.

She helped create recovery programs like the Phoenix SOAR (Survivors Offering Assistance to Recovery) Program, training peer support leaders across North America. With a Master's in Marriage & Family Therapy, Cindy now helps individuals and families transform their lives. As a motivational speaker, she shares her journey of resilience, inspiring others to overcome adversity and live fully.

Our Venue

Phoenix RISE in San Jose, presented by the Cunningham Law Firm event, will be held at the Villa Ragusa in Campbell, CA. It has all the charm of European architecture. The building features marble columns, a granite foyer, mahogany beverage bars, and natural woodwork throughout. A balcony wraps around the event space, which provides natural light and a relaxing place to enjoy the view of downtown Campbell while socializing at the event.

If you are arriving from out of town, the San Jose Mineta International Airport is a short 15-minute drive away from our venue.
