Frank was a longtime Phoenix Society champion, who died peacefully at home with his wife, Arlene, and his family nearby. He was a fellow sailor, and our mutual love of water was the foundation of a fast friendship at our first Phoenix World Burn Congress.

Earlier this summer we announced the Breslau Society, which recognizes and celebrates those who have included Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors in their wills or estate plans. The Breslau Society is named for its founder, Alan Breslau, honoring a lifetime dedicated to uniting the voice of the burn community. We sat down with Julie and Ben Spiegel of the Spiegel Burn Foundation, who are supporting this effort.

Being a burn survivor is a lifelong journey and for the family of Herbie Miller, they are celebrating his journey beyond his lifetime. Recently, Phoenix Society received a tribute gift in memory of Herbert “Herbie” Miller. A tribute gift is a meaningful way to honor a loved one’s memory or honoring someone special in your life. These gifts are unique expressions of thoughtfulness and love.

In 2017 we set a goal: unite the voice of the burn community across the globe so anyone impacted by a burn injury will know Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors is here to help them thrive again. As Phoenix Society transforms, we are expanding and developing innovative new programs. With our community’s guidance, we identified gaps in our services and opportunities to provide better access to ensure no one has to go through a burn injury alone.
